October 5, 1932 — December 9, 2022

Greenville, SC - Ray Bernard Price, 90, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022,from a brief illness.

He was born in Wolfton, SC on October 5, 1932, to the late Otis Bernard Price and Mettie Hughes Price. Ray graduated from Clemson University in 1956 with a degree in Civil Engineering. As an accomplished engineer, his career took him to nine states, Puerto Rico and Saudi Arabia. He met and married Nancy Mitchell in Toccoa, Georgia in 1954. They had five children, four sons and one daughter. Ray and Nancy formed a strong partnership based on love, faith, and compromise which lasted 68 years. They are members of Holly Ridge Baptist Church where Ray taught Sunday school for many years.  He was quite busy with providing for his large family and their varied experiences: church, family, friends, faithful pets, boating, camping and world travel. Ray spent the longest part of his life in Mauldin-Simpsonville, SC for 33 years. He retired early at the age of 58, but stayed busy with consulting jobs. Ray was energetic, adventuresome and goal oriented, but most of all, he was intellectually curious. As Ray and Nancy entered their 80’s, he was her devoted full-time caregiver as she became unable to walk. There was much love, honor and devotion in their relationship. Ray’s life, courageously lived, will serve as an inspiration to all who knew and loved him.
