How do we define a life well-lived? Is it measured in faith, years, impact, experiences, the love of family and friends? By these estimations and so many more, Rebecca “Becky” Bullington Cromer had a full and meaningful life.
Becky was born in Spartanburg, SC, the oldest child of Eula “Pike” Dickerson Bullington and Albert “Ab” Bryan Bullington. She attended Spartanburg High School and Cecil’s Business School before having a career as controller at ABCO Industries.
She found pleasure in things big and small – time spent on the coast of South Carolina fishing, watching the sunset over Port Royal Sound, traveling the world with her beloved husband Daniel, a good book or a game of cards, and a nightly glass of scotch. She was almost never happier than when holding a grandchild and showing them the colorful necklace she had worn just for their little hands to explore. She had a wicked sense of humor, and her laugh was delightful, mischievous, and contagious.
Becky was predeceased by husbands Jack Carlisle Taylor and Daniel Erskine Cromer, son Paul Bryan Taylor, and brother Albert Bryan Bullington Jr. She leaves behind her children Libba Taylor McCullough (Tim), Bill Taylor (Rene), and Ben Taylor Sr. (Christine); grandchildren Daniel Hysong (Heidi), Julie Lonon (Josh), Adam Taylor, Beau Taylor (Jessica), Ben Taylor Jr., Benjamin Taylor, Bryan Taylor (Sierra), Brittany Sanders (Josh), Marianna Taylor, Carson Taylor (Austin), Charlotte Taylor, Ella Taylor; 12 beloved great-grandchildren; children and grandchildren by marriage; and sister Kathy Bullington Cigala (Bob).
Becky found comfort and community at Summit Hills and Trinity United Methodist Church, and her family is grateful to all the people who cared for her at both. Her precious dog Bambi, who was always excited for a golf cart ride, never left her side.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 22nd at Trinity United Methodist Church from 1:00-2:00 pm, and a small commitment service will follow at the Trinity Columbarium at 2:00.
Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 626 Norwood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
