Regina (Wilschak) Galgon, wife of the late William "Bill" Galgon, passed away peacefully at her home on February 24, 2026. Born in Russia on December 24, 1941, Regina was the daughter of the late Olga (Dietz) Woytus and the late Michael Wilschak, and the stepdaughter of the late Stanislaw Woytus.
As a teenager, Regina moved with her family to the United States and grew up in the Philadelphia, PA area. After graduating from the Philadelphia High School for Girls (“Girls High”), Regina worked as both a teller and then a manager in a local bank for several years.
She met Bill (the love of her life) at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Philadelphia. Regina and Bill were married there on July 25, 1964. They were active as youth leaders and members of the fellowship group, Pairs and Spares.
Regina loved making beautiful needlepoint artwork, giving them as gifts and displaying them around their homes. She also enjoyed cooking and had great recipes for chili and French toast casseroles. She loved to travel with Bill, taking road trips across the US. Regina and Bill always took their nieces and nephews for short road trips to see different places as well. Years later, when Bill was transferred by Progress Lighting Corporation for work, they relocated to the Spartanburg, SC area, where they started another chapter of their life.
After beginning their journey in SC, Regina and Bill made many new friends. They continued to enjoy socializing and taking road trips together. They became active members of the Joy Lutheran Church in Moore, SC, where they spent time meeting new people and getting involved in church functions and ministries. Regina volunteered in the church office for many years while Bill was an active board member. They often drove back to PA to celebrate holidays and special occasions with their family and old friends, and they were welcomed wherever they went.
Regina is survived by her remaining family (all located in PA): Sister-in-Law Carol (Pamplin) Woytus, Niece Alycia Heffelfinger (Steven), Niece Monica Liberty (Greg), Nephew Walter Woytus (Karen), Sister-in-Law Ida (Galgon) Ujj, Niece Karen Becker (William), Nephew Joseph Ujj (Katie), several “grand-nephews and nieces” and other friends who deeply cared for her over the years.
The family has chosen to have a private memorial service in Regina’s honor.
