Rev. Paul Watson Smith

Spartanburg – Reverend Paul W. Smith, 82, husband of the late Carolyn Cothran Smith, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 27, 2022.

Rev. Smith was born on August 16, 1939, to the late Horace Bomar and Mary Lou Simpson Smith. He was a longtime minister.  Rev. Smith retired from Harley Bag after over 20 years of service.  He was owner/operator of Paul Smith Painting and a member of Roebuck Church of God.

Rev. Smith is survived by three sons, Rodney Smith, Sr. (Kenna) of Spartanburg, Steve Smith (Donna), Mike Smith (Melinda) both of TN; two sisters, Mary Pitford Mullinax of Duncan, Judy Lawson of Pauline; nine grandchildren, Rodney Smith, Jr., Bo Phillips, Anthony Phillips, Colt Newman, Harley Phillips, Kristin Phillips, Catie Smith, Tyler Smith, Nathan Smith; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Tommy Phillips, Jr., and six brothers.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Dunbar Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Dunbar Funeral Home.
