Robert Aubrey Baggett, Jr.

September 28, 1951 — March 28, 2026

Roebuck, SC

Robert Aubrey Baggett, Jr. of Roebuck, SC passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the age of 74. He was born in Memphis, TN to the late Robert and Billie Porter Baggett on September 28, 1951.

Raised in Tupelo, Mississippi, Rob graduated from Tupelo High School in 1969. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music from Mississippi College in 1973 and his Master’s in Church Music from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Rob worked at Kentucky Educational TV as an animator and received an Educational Specialist Degree from USC in 1993. He then became a Licensed Counselor in 1994 and began his work as a Guidance Counselor. Rob served as Guidance Counselor with Summit Parkway and Blythewood Middle School until his retirement in 2014.

He truly loved his Lord and served in various church positions including Sunday School teacher, Deacon, choir member, and counselor. Rob served as part-time Minister of Music at Greenlawn Baptist Church for 14 years before moving to Roebuck in October of 2020. However, his greatest ministry and most meaningful work was always time spent with his family. Rob was a faithfully devoted husband, father, and grandfather with a self-sacrificial heart full of love. He would often say that others may have surpassed him in wealth, but he felt so rich to be able to live close by his family and nurture the most important relationships in his life. Rob also had a great love of the outdoors, spending his free time hiking and horseback riding with family.

Rob is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa Nesmith Baggett; children, Bryan Robert Baggett (Jessica) of Mauldin and Emily B. O’Sullivan (Cameron) of Roebuck; grandchildren, Marley Gifford, Mary Cameron O’Sullivan, and Anna Kate O’Sullivan; and siblings, Rick Baggett (Leisa) of Pontotoc, MS and Nancy Ryan Boehmer (Dave) of Cleveland, TN.
