Robert Earl Fox

Robert Earl Fox,88, a man of honor, dedication, and love, passed away on August 30, 2023, at Terra Bella Assisted Living in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was born on September 9, 1934, in the serene town of Hot Springs, North Carolina, and embarked on a life journey filled with service, family, and enduring connections. Robert was born to Charlie Fox and Eulala Lamb Fox, and his upbringing in the mountains instilled in him values of integrity, commitment, and love for family. His early years set the foundation for a life filled with purpose and devotion. Robert's life was marked by his service to his country. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He also served for over 20 years in the US Air Force. His commitment to his nation was further demonstrated as a lifetime member of the VFW Post 9539, where he held various positions over the years. Robert was also a proud member of the Hejaz Shriners and the Scottish Rite Masons. Robert is survived by his devoted son, Darrell Fox, and his loving daughter, Gail Fox, his stepchildren: Mark A. Jones, William P. Jones, Kimberly M. Spalsbury, as well as his beloved grandchildren: Scott, Max, and Alex Fox, and Janean B. Drake. His memory is also carried on by his dear brother, Howard Fox, and sister-in-law, Gudrun, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he cherished dearly. In addition to his parents, and his late wife Janet Jones Fox, Robert was predeceased by two sons; David and Duane Fox, two brothers: John and Charles Fox, two sisters: Pauline Alexander and Etrulia Freeman, and his first wife Catherine Fox Wood. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation for the loving care Robert received while residing at the Terra Bella Senior Living Community. A service to honor Robert's life will take place on Saturday, September 9th, 2023, at J.M. Dunbar Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a chapel service at 11:00 AM. Robert will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Greer, South Carolina, with Military Honors, recognizing his dedicated service to his country.
