Roberta Snow Haynsworth of 607 Otis Blvd was born February 17, 1936. She passed away on July 29th. Roberta was the daughter of Robert Jefferson Snow and Sue Butler Snow. She was the widow of William Swinton Haynsworth. 

Roberta is survived by her two children Susan Haynsworth Meissner (John) of Mt Pleasant, SC and her son Thomas Baker Haynsworth IV (Cheryl) of Spartanburg, SC. 

She graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1954 and attended Converse College where she earned a Drama Scholarship. She was a child radio star beginning when she was 6 years old. From the time she was 10 years old until she was 17, she starred as Princess Pet on the C.B.S. Radio network in a weekly children’s network show recorded at W.S.P.A. radio studios. She was actively involved in her church (First Presbyterian Church). She was a circle leader, Sunday school teacher and Girl Scout Leader. In 1980 she became the owner and president of City Greeting Service where she also served as City Hostess for 36 years. Her business grew to include 8 other South Carolina cities. Roberta later became a member of The Church of the Advent. She dearly loved her two children, and those who knew her knew that she adored her white poodles. Over the years she walked them all over Converse Heights. Her last poodle “Charlie” was the love of her life. Roberta lived on Otis Blvd in the same house all her life. She was a child there and later, she and her husband raised their 2 children there. She was a member of the Wednesday Lunch Bunch, “The SSS (Super Sexy Seniors) Club.” These eight women had known each other since their kindergarten days together at Miss Ellerbe’s kindergarden class. They met every Wednesday for lunch for 25 years. Roberta was affectionately known as “The Queen of Otis Blvd.”

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, 2:00PM, at the Episcopal Church of the Advent, by the Rev. Paula Griffin. The family will receive friends immediately following in the Parish Life Center. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Roberta's Honor may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road Spartanburg, SC 29303.
