Rodney Scott Burnett

Rodney Scott Burnett, 59, of Moore, SC passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 6, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born in Spartanburg, SC on December 13, 1965 to the late Otis Edwin and Joy Felmet Burnett.

After attending Dorman High School, Rodney went on to enjoy the freedom of working for himself. He took on many jobs over the years, primarily automotive painting. Rodney was also an avid fisherman, enjoying many hours on the water with Brooks, Braylon, and Madalyn. He was truly a loving father, brother, and Papa and friend to all.

He is survived by his children, Brooks Burnett (Casey), Brandon Burnett (Annie), and Harley Ruppe (and her kids); grandchildren, Shalyn, Madalyn, Braylon, Hunter, Paeton, Madison, Sawyer, Greyson, Terah, and Piper; and the mother of his children, Lisa Crowe. Rodney also leaves behind his siblings, Kim Whiteside (Terry) and Joey Burnett; and nieces, Bridgette Lister (Wayne) and Paige Brown. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Justin Burnett.

Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at J. M. Dunbar Funeral Home & Crematory, 690 Southport Road, Roebuck, SC 29376. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, conducted by Chaplain Ronnie Norris. Following the services, the family will be at Rodney's home.
