Ruby McKinney Jeffords

WOODRUFF – Ruby I. Jeffords, 86, went to be with The LORD on February 28, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Ruby was born August 28, 1935 in Mountain Home, NC to Dock and Hester McKinney, sharing her birthdate with her twin brother, Harold.

Ruby was a Registered Nurse, graduating from Memorial Mission Hospital in 1956. She enjoyed caring for her patients for many years until retirement, and loved her family, which included her three children; Jay Robinson (Sharon), Mac Robinson (Julie), and Tammy Loberger (Mike). She was the devoted wife of Bill Jeffords, and together they enjoyed 25 years of travelling and spending time with their extended family and friends on their farm in Switzer. Their extended family includes her stepchildren, Loy Jeffords (Susan), Paula Wynn (Baxter), and Linda Gilden (John); as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom she dearly loved and enjoyed. Ruby was a Christian, and was very active in the life of First Baptist of Spartanburg. She touched many lives through her Christ-like, sacrificial love.

In addition to her twin brother, Harold, she is survived by her siblings, Roy, Ray, Paul, Pauline; and predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Sam.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at First Baptist Church Spartanburg on Thursday, March 3rd, 2 PM. Her family will be available to greet friends at 1 PM in the Dining Hall of the church.
