Samuel Ralph Taylor

Samuel Ralph Taylor, 91, went to be with the Lord on May 16, 2026. Born on June 21, 1934, in Enoree SC, he was the son of the late Samuel M. Taylor and Mary Whitlock Taylor.

Ralph was a proud graduate of Cross Anchor High School where he was voted valedictorian and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He dedicated much of his working life to Inman Mills, where he worked faithfully for 41 years. He worked at the Riverdale and Ramey plants beginning in 1967. A devoted member of his community, Samuel was a Mason with the Enoree Masonic Lodge and a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ruby S. Smith Taylor; and his second wife, Doris L. Jones Taylor; brothers, Charles M. Taylor and William B. Taylor; and one stepson Keith Gentry.

He is survived by his daughter Nancy Kelly Taylor, two sons Stanley Taylor and Benny Taylor and one stepson Roger Gentry and daughter in-law Dianne Gentry: three grandchildren, Shane Taylor, Ben Taylor, and Karla Cooper; and four great-grandchildren Nolan and Harrison Taylor, Kennzie and Daniel Cooper.

Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel at J.M Dunbar Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 2:00PM with a visitation from 1:00PM to 1:45PM Burial will follow at Cedar Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.

Samuel’s life was one of service, commitment, and love for family. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Pallbearers will be Ben Taylor, Josh Taylor, Jason Taylor, Clay Taylor and Don Moss.
