Sidney Shands

Pauline, SC- Sidney Shands, 75, wife of the late Capers Smith Shands, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021. Born August 23, 1946 in Pauline, SC, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Corrie Sumner. Mrs. Shands was retired from Byrnes High School where she was a teacher’s assistant for many years. She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church and served as Senior Warden. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Shands of Pauline, SC and Teresa Shands of Roebuck, SC; and a brother, Odell Sumner (Judy) of Walnut Grove, SC. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 2nd and begin at 11:00AM at Calvary Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the graveside.
