Souvith Prakansa

Souvith Prakansa was born in Ubon, Thailand to Mike and Patty Prakansa and migrated to Philadelphia, PA in October 1979. He grew up in North Philadelphia and loved the Eagles! Go Birds! Souvith grew up very close to his parents and siblings. When he lived in Philly, he enjoyed hanging on his porch, laying in his hammock enjoying his beer, and fishing and cooking for his nieces and nephews. Most of all, he is known for his love of music, especially as DJ Daveski and DJ DNA.

He was a HUGE family man and he loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He and his wife moved to Boiling Springs in 2020 to reside closer their children and grandchildren. During his time in SC, he enjoyed the simple life of being home with his wife and working in his yard. He was becoming a country boy. Souvith was gifted his truck from his father to complete his new country lifestyle. He was so happy when all his kids and grandkids would come over to eat and he was especially happy on Sundays watching the Birds.

Souvith didn’t know the impact he had on people. He was a role model to so many, and they looked up to and cherished him. He will forever be missed and never forgotten.

He is survived by his wife, Ashley Perry; children, Brennan Prakansa (Kasey), Anisa Prakansa, and Leilani Prakansa; grandchildren, Milani Rodriguez, Nyiko Johnson, Philly Prakansa, and Truce Simpson; and siblings, Chamnong Prakansa, Somphong Prakansa (Phouvilay), Itt Prakansa (Lily), and Nungning Kayyarath (Royan).

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at J. M. Dunbar Funeral Home & Crematory, 690 Southport Road, Roebuck, SC 29376.
