Stacey Dion Murphy

Stacey Dion Murphy of Chesnee, SC passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the age of 56. He was born in Spartanburg on November 12, 1969, to the late Jewell Elizabeth and Paul Edward Murphy, Jr.

After attending Dorman High School, Stacey became a heavy machinery operator. He was self-employed for a few years and worked in the construction industry before becoming the well-known maintenance supervisor with Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs. Stacey was a dedicated employee there for over 15 years.

Stacey was a simple, hardworking man in all regards. After working a full day, he would come home and tend to his ever-expanding chicken farm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being in nature. Most of all, he was a family man. Stacey was a single father who raised his son well and loved his grandson with all his heart.

He is survived by his son, Hunter Murphy; grandson, Titus “Kade” Murphy; brother, Chad Murphy; sister, Paula Gray (Dell); nieces, Casey Mills, Courtney Bagwell, And Brooke Cash; and great-niece, Olivia Bagwell.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 in J. M. Dunbar Funeral Home, 690 Southport Road, Roebuck, SC 29376.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Highway 9, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
