Susan Bea Hoy

Susan Bea Chastain Hoy, 64, of Chesnee, SC, passed away on September 6th, 2023. Born on September 29th, 1958, in Myrtle Beach, SC, she was the beloved daughter of the late Willis M. Chastain and Beatrice June Combahee Chastain. She is survived by her husband, Michael Bryan Hoy and her son William Walker Hoy. She is also survived by her sister Lydia Chastain Patterson (Glenn), and her aunt Doris Chastain Solesby, with many nieces and nephews. Susan’s educational journey took her from Boiling Springs High School, where she graduated in 1976, to Winthrop College, where she earned a B.A. in Fine Arts in 1980. Her passion for art and design laid the foundation for a successful career. She co-founded “Possibilities,” an interior design business, alongside her close friend, Kate Spence. For approximately 17years, they worked together, channeling their talents for style and color into creating beautiful spaces for their clients. After the conclusion of her formal interior design career, she continued to share her creative talents by decorating homes with the assistance of her dear friend, Debbie Stinson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Martie Clifton Chastain, and her sister, Cynthia Chastain Bradford. Susan’s greatest joys in life were rooted in her faith in Christ Jesus and her love for her family and friends. Her infectious laughter brightened the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her ability to bring joy to any room she entered was a testament to her warm and loving spirit. Services will be held at 3PM on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023, at the J.M.
