Sybil Painter Berry

Sybil Painter Berry, 84, wife of the late Buddy Melton Berry Sr., passed away on May 26^th, 2024. Sybil was born on February 4^th, 1940 in Spartanburg, SC, to the late George Albert and Addie Belcher Painter.

Sybil’s work career started with Jordan Oil Company, and then continued on at Security Finance, where she worked for over forty years.

She is survived by her sons; Preston Metcalf (Natalie), and Buddy Berry Jr., a daughter; Sandy Berry Alverson(Donnie); seven grandchildren, Drew, Brandi, Haley, Spencer, Scott and Cole; eight great-grandchildren, Reagan, Jamey, Ryder, Ollie, Asher, Amelia Cate, Eli and Stella; and her beloved dog, Bitsy, and cat, Angel.  Sybil is preceded in death by her brothers, Jonnie, Duran, and Henry Painter; her sisters, Agnes Millard, Louise Waldrop, Dorothy (Dot) Sherbert, and Mary Wofford; and her granddaughter, Ashley.

Graveside services will be held on June 4th, 2024, 10 A.M., at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by Pastor Jeff Valentine.
