Thomas Edward Boyce, Sr.

Thomas Edward Boyce, Sr. of Spartanburg, SC passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026 at the age of 95. He was born in Joanna, SC to the late John and Minnie Boyce and was husband of the late Shelby Hughes Boyce.

He proudly served four years as an Air Policeman with the United States Air Force. After his service, he attended the University of South Carolina. Thomas later joined the Internal Revenue Service, where he spent 45 years and became a senior auditor. He then opened his own company, Boyce Tax Service, which he owned and operated for 25 years.

Thomas enjoyed fishing and spending time with his precious dog, Coco. He especially looked forward to lunches with his friends and clients. He was also a long-time member of St. Christopher Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his son, Thomas E. Boyce, Jr. (Cindy); daughter, Karen B. Fisher; grandchildren, Meredith Boyce, Anna Fisher, Evan Fisher, and Nicholas Fisher; and several nieces and nephews. Along with his wife and parents, Thomas was predeceased by his brothers, Wallace Boyce, Earle Boyce, and Clarence Boyce; and sisters, Anna McInvaille, Pauline Poole Hughes, Ruby Cooper, and Gladys Neal.

The family would like to say a special thank you to his caregiver, Michelle Roth, who became a true friend to Thomas.

Memorial services will be 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 in St. Christoper Episcopal Church.
