Troy Burnett Roach,82, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026. Born in Westminster, South Carolina, on July 14, 1943, he was the son of the late Thomas Roach and Janie Cobb Roach.
Affectionately known as "Pop," Troy was a man of few words, but when he spoke, those around him listened. His quiet wisdom, steady presence, and thoughtful advice left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Troy retired after dedicating 50 years of service to Milliken. He was known for his incredible work ethic and ability to fix just about anything. He found joy in riding his bicycle, working in his yard and garden, and always having a project to tinker with. He also enjoyed watching professional wrestling and classic Westerns.
Troy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 30 years, Joan Annette Puckett Roach. Together they shared a wonderful life filled with love, laughter, and countless day trips. Troy often joked that he had "married a college girl," a lighthearted expression that reflected the joy and affection they shared throughout their marriage.
He is survived by his sons, Timothy S. Roach (Heather) of Greenville, South Carolina, Brian Roach (Tiffany) of Greenville, South Carolina, and Kenneth A. Roach of Piedmont, South Carolina. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Amber, Ashley, Bryant, Jacob, Jaden and Stella along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Troy’s funeral service will be 2:00pm on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at J.M Dunbar Funeral Home, 690 Southport Road, Roebuck, SC 29376. Visitation will be prior starting at 1:00pm.
Burial will be private.
