Walter James Brown

Walter James Brown, 86, widower of Frances Gilreath Brown, of Boiling Springs, SC, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025. He was born July 23, 1938, in Takoma Park, MD, to the late Virginia Thompson and John Clarence Brown, Jr.

Mr. Brown is survived by his sons, Bart Brown, Todd Brown, and Steven Brown (Dia); daughters, Patti Fix (Larry) and Krissie Belue (Travis); grandchildren, Blair Brown, Griffin Fix, Parker Fix, Bella Fix, Julian Belue, Jocelyn Belue, and Kensington Brown.

Walter worked as a computer systems analyst for Milliken from 1963-2001, when he retired to spend more time with his family. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for over 60 years, where he volunteered much of his time to the school and church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00AM on Friday, June 27, 2025, at St. Paul the Apostle Historic Catholic Church, 161 N. Dean Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. A reception will follow at the family home.
