Wilda Ann Brannon Bass

d. March 5, 2022

Boiling Springs, SC – Ann Brannon Bass, wife of the late Sam Bass, died Saturday, March 5, 2022, from Covid pneumonia at the age of 85.

A native of Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Brannon and the late Gladys Brannon.

She was a military wife for 25 years, and an avid golfer. Though she once loved visiting neighbors at White Oak and taking them her homemade cheese treats, she was homebound for the last 3½ years, being cared for by her daughter Suzanne. She was happiest surrounded by her “great-grands.”

Surviving are her five children: Alan and his wife Julia of Myrtle Beach; Robert of Boiling Springs; Betty and her husband John of Reidville; Suzanne and her fiancé Tim of Boiling Springs; and Jeanne and her husband Scott of Pauline. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Bryan and Michael Coan of Boiling Springs, Melissa Adams of Boiling Springs and Chris Roberts of Columbia, and Tessa, Brandon and Juston Hughey of Pauline; and eight great grand-children: Marissa, Haley, Jordan, Samantha, Evie, Emilia, Harper, and Avery; and many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her loving sister-in-law, Carolyn Brannon of Spartanburg, and brother-in-law James Bass of Mississippi.

Ann was predeceased by a brother, Paul “Sonny” Brannon, a sister, Ellnora “Kitty” Brannon Wyatt, both of Spartanburg; and five babies who are in heaven.

A service will be held at 3:00 pm, March 9, 2022 at Dunbar Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour before the service. The family asks that masks be worn and social distancing be observed.

A livestream of the service will be at https://www.facebook.com/dunbarlivestream starting at 2:50PM

Memorials may be made to Beaumont United Methodist Church, 687 N. Liberty St., Spartanburg, SC 29303.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses (especially Christine) of Mary Black ICU who took such good care of Mom during her final days.
