Dotson Jennings

Moore, SC- Dotson Jennings, 82, passed on Sunday, December 7, 2014 with his family by his side at Summit Hills Special Care of Spartanburg. Born in Spartanburg, SC, he was a son of the late Ott Ervin and Mattie Lee West Jennings of Moore, SC. Dotson loved his family, friends, NASCAR, Myrtle Beach, and his special canine friend, Ozzie. Dotson is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Pruitt Jennings; one son, Michael Jennings (Judy), all of the home; two granddaughters, Tracy Jennings Woodman (Mark) of Spartanburg, SC and Meaghan Jennings of Boiling Springs, SC; two grandsons, Brandy Cothern (Paige) of Arkansas and Casey Cothern (Lorin) of Mauldin, SC; three great grandchildren, Chase Cothern, Brantley Jennings (expected in May), and Zach Tait; brother, Wilburn Jennings of Spartanburg, SC; three sisters, Betty McBee, Ollie Moody, and Frances Emory, all of Spartanburg, SC; and special and cherished member of the family, Eva Davis (Brad). He was predeceased by three brothers, Fred, Harold, and Boyce Jennings; and one sister, Elizabeth West, all of Moore, SC. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 10th, 2:00-3:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Chapel at 3:00PM. Burial will be held in Heritage Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alive & Well Animal Rescue Center, 1247 Boiling Springs Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
